Hi, I’m Kelsey! Sunshine in the Soul is a passion project that has been on my mind for a while. I wrote for the faith and family section of the Deseret News (based in SLC, Utah) for five years. I loved it so much because it gave me the opportunity to meet and connect with a variety of people who all had something in common: their faith in Jesus Christ. I have so many unforgettable memories of writing certain articles and feeling like I was being led by God to share these stories with the world. I remember sitting on my bed one night, trying to see through tears as I transcribed a testimony from an interview. This individual’s testimony strengthened my faith, and I knew their story had the ability to bless the lives of many.
Since my time as a journalist, life has gotten crazier. My husband and I have been busy with our two adorable little girls, some career changes and a couple of moves. Thanks to my husband’s encouragement, I’ve decided to reshare some of my favorite faith stories from my time at the Deseret News and start this little space to share as many faith-filled stories as possible about Christ, parenthood, and this wonderful and crazy thing called life. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I know that “by small and simple things are great things brought to pass” (Alma 37:6).
I am so excited to help spread His sunshine from these beautiful souls to your beautiful soul. You are not alone in your belief in God.
